Setting up a successful business is hard work. And for migrants who may be unfamiliar with the local market and the business practices in their adopted new home, choosing the entrepreneurial path requires doubly hard work.
In recognition of the entrepreneurial spirit and hard work of the Filipino-Australians who are now basking in the glory of business success, the Australia Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industries (APCCII) held the 2009 Business Achievement Awards on 4 September 2009 at the Blacktown Workers Club in NSW.
With the theme “Go for Business Optimism”, the Awards underlined the importance of supporting Filipino-Australian businesses in the light of the global economic downturn. The event also served to promote bilateral trade between the Philippines and Australia, and to promote the business interests of the Chamber’s members.
Among the special guests who assisted APCCII President Carolyn Manaloto and APCCII Vice President Arturo Sayas in presenting the Awards were: Blacktown City Mayor Charlie Lowles and Philippine Vice Consul J. Anthony Reyes who represented Philippine Consul General for NSW Eva Betita.
